Cattolica is a continuous surprise. Its surroundings are surprising too. A short distance from Cattolica the hills in the Signoria dei Malatesta are surely worth a trip. Malatesta were a powerful family from Rimini who ruled over that territory between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. One can also easily reach another fascinating area, i.e. Montefeltro, the ancient Signoria of the Dukes of Urbino.

The blue sea and the green countryside are the background for valleys and hills, villages and castles that are lively all year round, but become livelier in summer, thanks to festivals historical celebrations, shows and the theatre performances.
